Job summary

Juneau-based Sled Dog Demonstration Tour Handler position offering $3,500.00 per month. The role runs from late April through early October, with housing provided and a vehicle available locally. You will speak publicly to guests, care for 13 sled dogs, train with mushers, and develop sled-dog driving skills. Entry-level friendly, must be legally eligible to work in the U.S.

Seasonal full-time commitment preferred; athleticism and safety awareness a plus.

Qualifications

• Public speaking to provide an informative talk to a group
• Care for 13 sled dogs in a competent and careful manner
• Train and work closely with Mushers
• Develop skills related to sled dogs and driving the team
• Athletic ability preferred
• Entry level position with no experience necessary
• First aid and CPR cards valid through season
• Must love meeting new people and be a team player
• Able to lift 50 lbs and stay alert to safety

Responsibilities

• Public speaking to inform a large group during tours
• Be assigned to care for 13 sled dogs and ensure their welfare
• Work closely with Mushers and learn sled dog handling
• Develop driving skills by practicing with the team
• Demonstrate athletic ability and positive attitude
• No prior experience required; on-boarding provided
• Maintain safety and assist guests throughout the tours
