Job summary

Alaska X is seeking a Dog Handler to care for dogs, transport guests, and give 20-30 minute presentations about dog mushing in Skagway and Juneau. You will follow the company’s animal-care policies and prepare sleds for guests, including capturing guest photos while a musher drives the wheeled sled.

Requirements include a valid driver’s license, CPR/First Aid certification, at least 21 years old, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and willingness to work with dogs.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License.
• Valid CPR/First Aid Certificate.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Able to lift up to 50lbs.
• Must be willing to work with dogs on a daily basis.
• Must not be allergic to dogs.

Responsibilities

• Ensure guests experience the excursion attentively and address questions, while notifying management of guest concerns.
• Follow standard operating procedures to maintain safety, consistency, and quality.
• Communicate accurate information to staff (guest counts, office contacts, dock communications).
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
• Perform other tasks to support company goals.
