Job summary

Job description

To perform duties related to the operation and maintenance of a municipal swimming pool.

• Prepares job assignments and rotation schedules.
• Prepares lesson plans and teaches swim lessons and classes.
• Advises pool patrons again involvement in hazardous and prohibited activities.
• Tests pool water by using chemical water test kit and maintains proper PH levels by monitoring the water filtration systems.
• Maintains proper sanitation of pool facilities, which includes shower facilities and bathhouse.
• Patrols activities surrounding pool facilities, shower rooms and bathhouses to ensure safety of patrons and for security purposes.
• Administers first aid and/or CPR to injured patrons as necessary.
• Renders assistance to swimmers in distress.
• Coaches swim teams.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Must be certified by American Red Cross as Lifeguard
