Job summary

The Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis is seeking undergraduate students for a 2027 summer internship. You will be matched with a department to apply your skills and contribute to real projects within the central banking system.

Interns work 40 hours per week for 12 weeks from May 24 to August 13, 2027, and are paid $23.00 per hour. On-site presence is required, and immigration sponsorship is not offered for this position.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a post-secondary degree.
• Able to enrolled when applying but not necessarily during internship.
• Open to students graduating December 2026 or later.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Familiar with standard office software and willing to learn new tools.
• Effective interpersonal communication skills.
• Demonstrate behaviors aligned with core values: Service, Integrity, Inclusion, Initiative, Accountability, Objectivity.
• Some positions require U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigative research to support economic and community development work.
• Perform data processing, cleaning, and analysis of datasets.
• Assist with survey and engagement research including work involving Native Nations.
• Support wealth and debt data analysis using SIPP.
• Create communications materials and newsletters.
• Assist with housing affordability research and quantitative data projects.
