Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, NM is seeking highly qualified graduate engineering students for the RAMS internship focused on structural mechanics research and applications.

You will work with a staff mentor and interns from across the United States on independent and team projects using world-class computational resources, and contribute to national security related research.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree completed or in progress in a STEM field.
• Graduate program in science, engineering, or math; pursuing MS/PhD preferred.
• GPA 3.0/4.0 or higher.
• Ability to work up to 40 hours per week in the summer.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with subject matter experts in computational mechanics and environments.
• Develop and implement capabilities for production finite element analysis codes.
• Simulate complex structures under extreme mechanical environments.
• Partner with experimentalists to calibrate simulations.
