Job summary

The City of Charleston is seeking a Recreational Aid to support its summer recreation programs across multiple community centers. You will greet patrons, answer phones, supervise activities, and assist with facility maintenance, cleanliness, and safety.

Responsibilities include helping to create and oversee programs, supervising staff and volunteers, managing food/beverage at pool concessions, and performing other duties as assigned to ensure smooth operation of city recreation services for

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; previous recreation center experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills are required.
• Ability to work with diverse groups and adapt to schedules and weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Greet patrons and answer phones at community centers.
• Assist with creating and supervising recreation programs and activities.
• Assist with cleaning, sanitizing, and maintenance of facilities and equipment.
• Handle concession stand duties and process payments at pool areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support summer programs.
