Job summary

BoldAge PACE is seeking a Recreation Assistant in North Charleston, SC to support therapeutic, social, and recreational programs for PACE participants. You will work under the Recreation Coordinator, assisting with group and individual activities and non-skilled ADLs while ensuring safety and participant engagement.

The role emphasizes teamwork, documentation, and adherence to HIPAA and PACE guidelines. A high school diploma is required, with preferred recreation/gerontology coursework.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Additional coursework or certification in recreation, activities, or gerontology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist with group, individual, and one-on-one activities (e.g., exercise, arts, crafts, music, games, outings).
• Assist Activities Coordinator in planning, preparing, and evaluating programs tailored to participants’ needs and capabilities.
• Provide assistance with non-skilled ADLs (escorts to activities, meals, toileting assistance, hand-over-hand activity support).
• Organize and execute special events, cultural celebrations, and community outings.
• Ensure setup and cleanup of activities, maintain supplies and equipment in safe condition.
• Complete required documentation and reports in line with PACE standards.
• Participate in the interdisciplinary team (IDT) and share participant insights.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Certification in recreation/gerontology (preferred)
