Job summary

HarperCollins Publishers invites applications for a Publicity Intern to join our NYC team in person this Summer. You will work closely with experienced publicists to craft campaigns across children's books, from picture books to YA, coordinating with editorial, sales and marketing teams.

The role emphasizes organization, media outreach, and hands-on training in publicity. It offers a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is ideal for students or recent grads passionate about books.

Qualifications

• Available to work in NYC office Mon-Thu for 28 hours/week, Jun 7–Aug 12, 2027.
• Compensation is $18 per hour.
• Open to rising seniors, recent grads, master's students, or entry level candidates with up to 1 year of experience.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Perform general administrative duties, including processing mailings to media and booksellers and managing internal databases.
• Media research across platforms: MuckRack, media outlets, social media, and more.
• Pull book assets from internal databases.
• Manage and create promotional materials such as press kits, media pitches, and thematic round-ups.
• Support publicists with select media outreach.
• Maintain accurate records of all publicity efforts, data entry of media, and event bookings.
• Help organize and manage author media and tour schedules.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings.
• Attend internal meetings and select off-site author events.
