Job summary

HarperCollins Publishers invites a Publicity Intern to join the NYC office this summer, working alongside seasoned publicists to support campaigns for books across literary and commercial categories.

You will gain hands-on experience in media outreach, press kit creation, travel coordination, and day-to-day publicity tasks, with a focus on developing strong organizational and communication skills in a fast-paced publishing environment.

Qualifications

• Must be available to work in NYC office Mon-Thu for 28 hours per week, Jun 7–Aug 12, 2027.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• A resume and cover letter are required; address to “Hiring Team.”
• Ideal candidates are currently enrolled or recently graduated from undergrad or master’s programs.
• Passion for books and the publishing industry is highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Performs general administrative duties and manages internal databases.
• Media research across platforms and monitoring outlets.
• Pulls book assets from internal databases.
• Create and organize promotional materials such as press kits and author bios.
• Support Publicity Directors with select media outreach.
• Maintain records of publicity efforts and bookings.
• Books travel for authors and helps organize media/tour schedules.
• Assist with scheduling, invoices, and tracking expenses.
• Attend internal meetings and select author events.
