Job summary

Northwestern University’s Center for Talent Development seeks an Assistant Coordinator (temporary, 8 months) to support summer residential and commuter programs for academically talented youth in grades 6–12. The role covers logistics, instructional support, recruitment, hiring and training, with 24/7 on-call during the program and weekend work.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in education, psychology, STEM, or related field.
• 2+ years work experience in an education setting or non-profit educational agency.
• Experience supervising/managing staff or volunteers.
• Ability to respond to directions and interact professionally with colleagues.
• Strong prioritization, planning, organization and scheduling skills.

Responsibilities

• Hiring temporary summer staff, including reviewing applications, interviewing, offering positions and onboarding.
• Providing customer support to parents and staff and maintaining positive program relations.
• Coordinating training for assigned temporary staff and ensuring smooth program operations.
• Managing day-to-day operations of programs, including site setup, schedules, and materials.
• Procurement of resources and maintaining program records and enrollment data.
• Compiling data to generate reports and analyses for program management.
• Attending and preparing for meetings related to program development.
