An established youth development organization is seeking a Summer Program Director for the Counselor-in-Training Program. Summer Program Director for Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Program

Position: Summer Program Director for Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Program

Pay Range: $27.00/hr - $29.00/hr (based on skills and experience)

New Haven Youth Tennis and Education is a youth development organization providing academic support, tennis instruction, and enrichment through after-school and summer programming to underserved students in New Haven, Connecticut.

Details:

  • Dates: June 30 - August 1 (closed July 4)
  • Time: Monday – Friday, 4 hours each day, potentially 10:30 am – 2:30 pm
  • Location: Hopkins School, 986 Forest Road, New Haven, CT

Responsibilities:

  • Create and implement leadership training activities for about 10 CIT students (rising 9th and 10th graders)
  • Oversee CIT students in their roles and provide feedback
  • Lead some academic sessions for CIT students
  • Attend a 2-day staff training on May 31+June 1 or June 26+27
  • Work with young urban teens, mentoring and creating a fun, yet disciplined environment
  • At least one year teaching experience in middle/high school or similar preferred
  • Must be 21 or older
