Job summary

Free People is seeking a Planning & Allocation Intern for a Summer program. The role supports maximizing sales and optimizing inventory, collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet financial targets for the division. The URBN Inc.

internship program offers hands-on learning, exposure to senior leaders, and potential for full-time opportunities. The 2027 Summer Internship runs 6/7–8/13 at our Philadelphia Home Office. Applications close 5:00 PM EST on October 30, 2026.

Qualifications

• Passionate about retail/ecommerce planning and eager to learn.
• Strong grasp of retail math concepts and applications.
• Solid statistical analysis skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with good time management.
• Organized, detail-oriented, with strong prioritization and problem-solving.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Work with Buying and Merchandising to pursue common goals for the merchandise area.
• Support planning counterparts with reporting and operational functions.
• Assist in developing style-level plans based on forecasts and historical trends.
• Help allocate merchandise for one or more departments.
• Participate in OTB, Strategy, and Hindsight meetings; contribute distribution insights.
• Provide weekly sales and trend reporting.
• Track styles on-order and turnover units.
