Job summary

Free People is seeking a Merchandising intern for Summer at the Home Office in Philadelphia. You will help tell the product story on our e-commerce site through imagery, keywords and shop-friendly edits, while learning the product lifecycle and merchandising processes.

The program runs 6/7–8/13, open to rising seniors, with cross-functional collaboration across buying, design, marketing and creative teams; portfolio welcome.

Qualifications

• Prioritize projects and multitask effectively.
• Rudimentary understanding of retail math.
• Detail oriented and creative thinker.
• Strong relationship building and cross-functional collaboration.
• Proficient in Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Retail experience preferred.

Role Summary

Free People is looking for a Merchandising intern to join their team this Summer. Our merchandising intern works strategically to tell our products story on our e-commerce website through compelling imagery, key words and easy to shop edits.

Please note: At this time, URBN’s Buying Internships are open to rising seniors (current undergraduate juniors) only. If you are currently a junior pursuing your undergraduate degree, we encourage you to apply!

About the Summer Internship Program: Each summer, URBN Inc. welcomes candidates from across the country to immerse themselves within various teams across our portfolio of brands and gain hands‑on learning experience in the area of business they choose to pursue. Our paid internship program also offers a summer full of intern‑focused events, including exposure to senior leadership through small‑group settings, insight into company initiatives, off‑site field trips, and, for those who qualify, the opportunity to interview for a full‑time position. Project Requirement:

In addition to your application and resume, to be considered for this role you must submit a Concept Board (8.5 X 11 PDF format is preferred). This is due at the time of your application submission.

• Create a concept board with 3 – 5 fashion trends you see emerging for the Free People customer in Fall 2027.


• Pull imagery from blogs, Pinterest, Instagram, runway, etc. to show your point of view – merchandisers, make it into a story!


• We are looking for forward thinkers showing future inspirational trends that move beyond where we are currently or wherewe have been!
