Job summary

JBS USA offers a 10-week summer internship designed to help you identify operational gaps and improve process efficiency across our production facilities. You will gain hands-on experience in a real-world setting, learn under a dedicated mentor, and explore a potential career path within the global food supply chain.

You will support the operations team, observe production practices, and work on projects with real-world impact.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in four-year university or pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the operations team.
• Learn effective and efficient operations within a culture of continuous improvement.
• Shadow how to maintain the production practices that support the food safety program in the facility.
• Experience monitoring product quality and production operations to meet customer expectations.
• Understand how to create an environment where all are expected to be active members of the team – involved in the business.
• Shadow identifying problems or bottlenecks in production processes and resolve issues; ensure resources are available to maintain schedules; support continuous improvement goals.
• Understand how to implement a solution to fix the problem or bottleneck identified.
• Create relationships with hourly team members.
• Shadow production supervisors and learn their day-to-day operations.
• Learn basics in how to anticipate and determine causes of delays in shift operations and take appropriate actions to meet production schedules.
• Complete and present a project related to issues within the operations department.
