Job summary

OSF HealthCare invites nursing students to join the Summer Intern Program, offering hands-on patient care opportunities under RN supervision. Interns will rotate through Med Surg, Telemetry, ICU, ED and Family Birth Center and gain experience aligned with their studies.

The program supports students graduating in December 2027 and May 2028 and pays an hourly rate of $22.60/hour for this temporary internship position at OSF HealthCare.

Qualifications

• Must have completed a clinical rotation and is within one year of completion of their nursing program.
• Current BLS for Healthcare Provider card - American Heart Association.
• Ability to turn PC hardware on/off and work with a mouse; familiar with basic Windows environment and keyboarding.
• Strong interpersonal skills to comfort patients, family members and/or significant others; communicate effectively with other patient care providers.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care appropriate to the age of the patients served on their assigned unit(s).
• Rotate through Med Surg, Telemetry, ICU, Emergency Department and Family Birth Center.
• Perform nursing duties under RN supervision and expand responsibilities as skills grow.
