Job summary

U.S. Engineering seeks a Manufacturing Engineer Internship in our Lawrence, KS office for a 12-week summer program from May through August 2027. This paid internship offers hands-on experience, orientation, job walks, and opportunities to network with top leaders.

You will shadow project organization, estimating, manufacturing and LEAN processes, and assist leadership with operational challenges across the facility while learning safety and quality programs.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction science, or business with an interest in mechanical contracting.
• Willingness to learn and grow in a hands-on environment.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Effective leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to develop professional relationships and self-motivation.
• Basic business acumen.

Responsibilities

• Shadow project organization, estimating, manufacturing and LEAN processes.
• Participate in safety and quality programs while assisting other metalworks roles executing Safety and Quality events.
• Assist leadership in researching operational challenges across the facility and manufacturing processes.

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or related fields
