ESSENTIAL DUTIES

1. Supervises swimming activities at the aquatics facility and ensures that policies, guidelines, and safety procedures are followed.
2. Advises swimmers of improper activities or dangers and enforces pool regulations and water safety policies.
3. Responds to emergencies and administers first-aid when necessary.
4. Ability to work independently.
5. Maintains focus at a high level for extended periods.
6. Evaluates conditions for safety and activates emergency action plan if necessary.
7. Completes daily opening/closing procedure checklists.
8. Inspects pool facilities, equipment, and water to ensure that they are safe and usable.
9. Assists with pool chemical tests and records results accordingly.
10. Ability to communicate effectively with patrons, co-workers, and management.
11. Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum

1. Must be at least 15.5 years of age.
2. Be able to work a minimum of 3 days a week and have weekend and holiday availability.
3. Reliability and commitment to scheduled shifts.
4. Candidate must be enthusiastic, outgoing, and have a willingness to interact with the public.
5. Reliable transportation.
6. Be able to obtain and maintain a StarGuard Elite Lifeguard Certification.
7. Swimming proficiency and ability to submerge to water depths exceeding 12 feet.

Preferred

1. Have prior lifeguard experience.
2. StarGuard Elite Lifeguard Certification.
