New Summer Openings! Are you passionate about swimming and safety? Looking for a meaningful, fun job with flexible hours this summer? If you're a certified lifeguard (or want to become one!), we have exciting opportunities waiting for you at the YMCA!

Lifeguard opportunities start at $19.00 per hour!
Certification class starts during April vacation—get certified and ready for summer!

As a Lifeguard at the YMCA, you'll be responsible for:

  • Explaining and enforcing safety regulations and rules to ensure a safe environment for all swimmers.
  • Monitoring for any safety hazards and assisting in poolside activities.
  • Remaining rescue-ready at all times, implementing emergency procedures when necessary.
  • Assessing swimming capabilities of individuals in the aquatic area to ensure they are safe.
  • Providing structured lessons following the YUSA curriculum for Swim Instructors.
  • Participating in training and shadowing shifts as part of your onboarding process.

Qualifications
  • Must be a minimum of 16 years of age
  • Current certifications in Lifeguard/Swim Instructor, Pro CPR, First Aid, and Oxygen, or willing to obtain
  • Must be able to swim and pass the Y swim test
  • Seeking applicants with daytime availability interested in summer employment, starting in May or June, sooner if available!
