Job summary

Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline is seeking motivated students or recent graduates for its 12-week Land internship in Lenexa, KS. The program provides hands-on experience, mentorship, and training, with assignments spanning landowner relations, regulatory requirements, and land operations in the pipeline industry.

The position offers 40 hours per week, 12 weeks from May to August, with competitive pay and a potential housing stipend if distance warrants.

Qualifications

• You must be 18 years of age by the start of the summer internship assignment.
• You must be authorized to work in the United States.
• You must be currently enrolled as a junior or senior pursuing a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Real Estate, Urban Planning, Construction Management, or a related field.
• You must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.75 after each completed semester/term.
• Plan to pursue a career in land operations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Land Services team with daily and weekly activities
• Conduct research and summarize findings related to business operations, compliance requirements, and natural gas pipeline industry developments
• Assist with reviewing, organizing, and maintaining contracts, legal documents, policies, and other departmental records
• Support compliance and information governance initiatives designed to mitigate business risk and promote regulatory compliance
• Monitor and compile information regarding legislative, regulatory, and industry trends that may impact the Company
• Participate in department meetings, shadow professionals, and assist with special projects and other assignments as needed
• Travel to project sites to gain an understanding of natural gas pipeline operations
• Other duties as assigned
