Job summary

Diamondback Energy invites an IT Intern to own a summer project while engaging with IT, reporting and analytics, data integration, infrastructure, and cyber security. The 12-week program runs May–August 2027, with placement in Oklahoma City and mentorship across IT teams to learn how an Oil & Gas company operates.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills.
• Willing to work in Oklahoma City for the duration of the internship.
• Must be returning to school Fall 2027.

Responsibilities

• Work on an assigned IT project throughout the summer, culminating in a presentation to Diamondback’s executive team
• Develop IT skills under the supervision and guidance of an assigned mentor
• Work directly with IT and other teams to experience what working in an Oil & Gas Exploration and Production company is like
• Participate in release management activities and attend daily stand-up calls with various IT teams
• Review key IT controls for cyber security and SOX compliance
• Interface with other departments to understand their usage of IT systems and processes to drive key business outcomes
• Provide quality compliance and administrative support to the department
• Participate in intern events and philanthropic endeavors that support the Oklahoma City community
