Job summary

Diamondback Energy in Midland, TX, is seeking a Finance Intern to own a summer project and work with financial analysis, investor relations, capital markets, and corporate development. Duration is about 12 weeks (May–August 2027).

You will gain hands-on experience delivering financial deliverables, learning NAV modeling, debt and equity markets, and interacting with senior executives and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration, Finance, or a similar discipline.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills with high attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint.
• Willing to work in Midland, TX for the duration of the internship.
• Returning to school for Fall 2027 semester.

Responsibilities

• Work on an assigned Finance project throughout the summer, culminating in a presentation to Diamondback Energy's executive team.
• Develop knowledge of finance within the oil and gas industry under mentorship.
• Assist in preparing weekly and monthly deliverables for senior executives and the Board of Directors.
• Support maintaining the corporate financial model and NAV.
• Maintain knowledge of debt and equity capital markets.
• Interface with other departments to understand processes driving business outcomes.
• Participate in on-site field visits to learn about field operations, including drilling and completions.
