Job summary

The Lansing Board of Water & Light (BWL) offers two IT Intern positions in Lansing, MI for the summer 2027 program. Interns will collaborate with the IT team on business transformation projects and cybersecurity improvements, using standard Microsoft tools and data analysis.

Mentorship is provided by IT staff to build practical skills. Position runs May 17, 2027 to August 13, 2027 at a pay rate of $23.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited educational institution in Information Technology with junior or senior status during Summer 2027.
• Must be enrolled in Fall 2027 classes.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software in collaboration with BWL IT developers.
• Configure network devices with IT team.
• Perform project coordination tasks with BWL IT PMO.
• Mitigate cybersecurity risks as directed.
• Gather data and perform data analysis as directed.
• Follow BWL IT standards and best practices.
