Job summary

Milliken & Company in Laurens, SC is seeking a Gilliland Plant Summer Intern in Technical Textile Manufacturing to gain hands-on experience on real projects. The internship runs 11–12 weeks in summer 2027, is full-time, and pays hourly with a typical Mon–Fri schedule, 8:00 am–5:00 pm.

The intern will support material traceability or chemical optimization, conduct analysis, develop reports, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Rising junior or senior at a university.
• Working towards a BS degree (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial engineering major or related field).
• Able to participate in the Intern Leadership Forum in Spartanburg, SC.
• Able to participate in the final presentation review in August in Spartanburg, SC.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day activities and key projects within the Gilliland Plant (Technical Textiles).
• Conduct research, analysis, or data review to support business decisions.
• Assist in developing reports, presentations, or process documentation.
• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders across the organization.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement or efficiency gains.
• Present project findings, recommendations, or results.
