Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company is offering a Reactor Core Thermal Hydraulic Design intern role at the Cranberry, PA facility. The position is a paid full-time hybrid internship for the summer, May - August 2027, reporting to the Thermal Hydraulic Design Manager.

You will gain hands-on experience supporting analyses that define reactor core limits and margins, mentored by experienced nuclear engineers, with opportunities to present findings to engineering teams and leadership.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in nuclear or mechanical engineering or related field.
• Completed Sophomore year of college.
• Experience with programming, computer simulation, and Linux.

Responsibilities

• Receive training in reactor core thermal hydraulic design.
• Learn reactor core design, fuel features, operating parameters and methodologies.
• Perform reactor core thermal hydraulic design analyses using internal tools.
• Work with mentors on technical and professional aspects in the nuclear industry.
• Present project results and technical findings to engineering teams and leadership.
