Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company invites applications for a Reactor Vessel Internals internship at its Cranberry Township facility. This paid, full-time hybrid summer position runs May through August 2027 and reports to the Reactor Vessel Internals Components Design Manager.

• Participate in design reviews and present technical designs and analysis results to team members.

About the role:

As a Reactor Vessel Internals intern, you will part of a dynamic team and contribute to the development of technical products and systems.

You will report to the Reactor Vessel Internals Components Design Manager and be located at our Cranberry facility. This is a paid full-time hybrid position for the summer, May - August 2027.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the development, and analysis of mechanical systems and components
• Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, reports, and calculation notes
• Support ongoing projects by authoring and verifying non-conformance reports
• Participate in technical presentations and written communications for customers and management
• Research new technologies and manufacturing processes
• Solve technical engineering problems
• Collaborate with the manufacturing team to improve processes and design assembly fixtures
• Participate in design reviews and present technical designs and analysis results to team membersSupport the department with necessary technical, lab testing, or clerical work

Qualifications:

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
• Completed Sophomore year of college

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The hourly rate for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $25.40 to $29.00 per hour.
