Job summary

NiSource is offering a 12-week Summer Operational Excellence Intern program in Columbus, OH, starting May 2027. Interns will participate in Power Delivery, GIS Environmental, and Continuous Improvement projects while gaining hands-on experience and professional development.

Applicants should be enrolled in GIS, Engineering, Accounting, Operations Management or related fields with a 3.0+ GPA and the ability to work without sponsorship. Residency within 50 miles of Columbus is required.

Qualifications

• Major in GIS, Engineering, Accounting, Operations Management or related discipline.
• Required GPA 3.0 and above.
• Experience working independently.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship.
• Strong verbal and written skills.
• Demonstrated problem analysis and solving.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the planning, development, and implementation of the operations work plan in support of Power Delivery.
• Support GIS Environmental tasks across Columbus, OH or Merrillville, IN to add files to GIS.
• Assist the Transformation Office consultants and governance lead through multiple activities.
