Job summary

Branch Builds, Inc. in Boone, NC is seeking a Summer Intern for our Heavy Civil Construction program. We welcome rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors pursuing Building Construction, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management or related degrees.

You will gain hands-on experience with preconstruction, project management, and field supervision, supported by mentors to develop practical skills for a successful construction career.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled college students pursuing Building Construction, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management or related degrees.
• Courteous and professional attitude when dealing with coworkers, customers and the public.
• Strong analytical and computer skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Travel is required. A valid driver’s license with a good driving record is mandatory.
• Passionate and determined to make a difference.

Responsibilities

• Participate in preconstruction, project management and field supervision activities with training and mentoring.
• Interact with subcontractors, vendors and owners.
• Assist in cost planning, scheduling, materials procurement, cost control and quality management.
• Prepare a presentation outlining internship experience at program end.
• Follow safety and security procedures and determine appropriate action steps.
