Job summary

Branch Builds in Roanoke, VA is seeking a Summer Intern for rising sophomores, juniors and seniors in Building Construction, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related fields. The program provides structured learning and mentorship to develop practical construction skills.

Interns will join Preconstruction, Project Management and/or Field Supervision teams, interact with subcontractors and owners, and assist in cost planning, scheduling, procurement, cost control and quality

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled college students pursuing Building Construction, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management or related degree.
• Courteous and professional attitude when dealing with coworkers, customers and the public.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Strong analytical and computer skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Travel is required; a valid driver's license with a good driving record is mandatory.
• Passionate and determined to make a difference.

Responsibilities

• Be assigned to actual responsibilities of the Preconstruction, Project Management and/or Field Supervision teams with training and mentoring.
• Interact with subcontractors, vendors and owners.
• Assist in cost planning and scheduling, materials procurement, cost control, and quality management.
• Prepare a presentation outlining internship experience at Branch at program end.
• Follow safety and security procedures and determine appropriate action steps.
