Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company seeks an electrical engineering intern for our New Stanton site. This paid, full-time onsite summer role involves applying coursework to real projects, performing electrical design and analysis for nuclear products, and coordinating with internal teams to gather information.

You will report to the OEM Product Engineering Manager and must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, with sophomore year completed.

About the role:

As an electrical engineering intern you will use knowledge obtained from core college courses. Working with other internal departments on similar engineering level to obtain information necessary to perform work assignments.

You will report to the OEM Product Engineering Manager and be located at our New Stanton location. This is a paid full time onsite position for the summer.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete tasks using Software Packages such as ETAP, Mathcad, AutoCAD, or equivalent and new program packages.
• Provide engineering design and analysis for nuclear products/projects including electrical system design, instrumentation and controls designs, and system wiring.
• Work with other internal departments on similar engineering level to obtain information necessary to perform work assignments.
• Plan and schedule work tasks to meet assignment requirements.
• Evaluate, select and utilize standards, techniques, procedures, and criteria for development of engineering design documents including calculations and specifications.

Qualifications:

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering required or equivalent such as mechanical/electrical engineering
• Complete sophomore year of college
