Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an engineering intern in Alabama to support design teams with CAD deliverables and digital models. You will assist in generating engineering documents and 3D models under the supervision of a discipline manager or project engineer.

The role requires pursuit of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering with at least two years of coursework completed, plus familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, and electrical design software.

Job description

• Generate engineering design documents, digital models, and databases under the direction of the discipline Manager and/or project engineer
• Create engineering documents using CAD technology with AutoCAD and/or Revit
• Collaborate with engineers during project design phases to understand scope, information, data needs, and guidelines
• Provide limited design and detailed design documents with engineer input
• Correct and finalize documents for engineer review
• Check section integration and discipline coordination
• Resolve document coordination and production problems with engineers
• Reproduce documents upon request
• Produce drawings and digital design models in 3D software applications as needed
• Deploy team-oriented problem solving
• Perform related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor or Master’s degree in an engineering discipline at an accredited university
• Students should have completed at least 2 years of classes
• Previous internship/co-op experience is a plus
• Working proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
• Familiarity with electrical design and analysis software: AGI32, Visual, ETAP, SKM, EasyPower
• Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Capable of taking initiative and able to take direction
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written
