Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

Apply engineering knowledge to design and analyze electrical systems for installation, interconnection, and control of electrical, mechanical, and building system components
Apply NEC and NFPA standards to electrical design
Create engineering documents using CAD technology, Autodesk Revit, and/or AutoCAD
Provide CAD support to senior staff
Produce construction documents according to company standards and industry best practices
Collaborate with project teams to resolve design and document coordination challenges
Create and maintain structured project files in Autodesk Forma
Update project specifications for electrical systems with assistance
Review project submittals and specify required actions for conformance
Conduct field measurements and site inspections
Perform additional duties supporting project goals and team objectives

Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred
Engineer in Training (EIT) License preferred
Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
Basic knowledge of Building Information Modeling software, Autodesk Revit, and AutoCAD
Strong technical and analytical skills
Knowledge of circuit theory, power systems, and electronics as they relate to electrical systems design for buildings
Knowledge of industry-standard engineering software and tools
Experience or familiarity with lighting photometric calculation software such as AGI or Elum Tools
Experience or familiarity with energy compliance software such as ComCheck
Familiarity with Adobe or Bluebeam Revu
