Job summary

Gentex Corporation is seeking a temporary student-assistant in the Aviation Department to support project work and process improvements. The role involves shadowing managers and teammates to learn the responsibilities and required procedures.

Position Overview

This role will serve as a temporary assignment at the Airport Hangar supporting our Aviation Department.

What you’ll do

  • Execute assigned tasks and/or projects and complete deliverables within allotted timeline.
  • Communicate timely and effectively with teammates and leadership, any project questions, issues, or concerns.
  • Assist with additional assignments as needed.

What to bring

Work authorization form from student’s current high school signed by a school representative and the Director of Talent Acquisition and/or other member of the Human Resources department. Alternatively, proof of graduation from high school. Must have excellent attendance. Ability to follow work instructions. Constant vigilance and ability to adhere to compliance with safety best practices, policies, and procedures.

Position Restrictions
  • This role is limited to working no more than 24 hours/week while school is in session, and no more than 48 hours/week while school is not in session.
  • The individuals in this role are limited to being assigned to first or second shift.
  • This role is prohibited from working more than 6 days in a week.
  • This role is prohibited from working more than 10 hours in a day.
  • This role is prohibited from working an average of more than 8 hours per day in one week.
  • This role is prohibited from working more than 5 hours continuously without a continuous 30-minute break or mealtime.
