Allegion is seeking a Summer Intern – Firmware Engineer to contribute to embedded firmware for access control and security products in Indianapolis, IN. You will join a small, engaged team within a global organization and gain hands-on experience defining firmware requirements, architecture, coding, testing, and integration into modular systems.

You will learn about electronic locking systems, participate in design reviews, and contribute to innovative products that enhance safe and secure

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Demonstrated leadership through school, work, or projects.
• Coursework in C programming; intermediate proficiency desired.
• Foundational knowledge in electronics.
• Strong listening, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Eagerness to learn and contribute to Allegion projects.

Responsibilities

• Expand skills in programming and scripting languages including C and Python.
• Gain hands-on experience in embedded software and firmware testing.
• Apply product development tools and diagrams to design work.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop solutions.
• Participate in daily standups, meetings, and firmware discussions.
• Build knowledge of electronics and laboratory tools.
• Lay a foundation for future growth within Allegion.
