Job summary

Johns Manville is seeking engineering interns for a 2027 Summer Internship Program in Richland, MS. Interns work full time on product development projects, addressing high‑value manufacturing challenges and presenting outcomes to leadership.

Participants gain hands‑on engineering and business experience, with rotations across operations. The program concludes with a senior leadership presentation at JM's Denver headquarters.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a B.S. degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical preferred).
• Completed at least sophomore year of undergraduate coursework.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to work in a team environment; demonstrated leadership.
• Basic understanding of production processes; AutoCAD experience.

Responsibilities

• Take an active part in the execution of product development projects.
• Own a high-value manufacturing problem from definition through implementation.
• Translate technical findings into business impact and quantify benefits.
• Apply engineering analysis, statistics, root-cause problem solving, PM, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Deliver a validated improvement roadmap with measurable results and executive presentation.
• Provide project status and lab reports as required.
• Support Process Technology development for Nonwovens and operations.
• Participate in process development projects to reduce manufacturing cost.
• Review production data to support operational decisions.
• Coordinate priorities for production lines; manage projects and contractors as needed.
• Develop and integrate product/process documentation for consistency.
