Basin Electric Power Cooperative is seeking a STUDENT INTERN - ENGINEERING (DFS) for the Dry Fork Station in Gillette, WY. This summer internship runs May 17, 2027 through August 20, 2027, with on‑site liaison work and project support for DFS engineering teams.

The role provides hands‑on engineering assistance, field coordination, and documentation support, requiring enrollment in an ABET‑accredited program and a transcript. Wage is $26.50/hour.

Qualifications

• Enrolled as a full‑time student in an ABET‑accredited four‑year engineering program with Sophomore year completed.
• Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 throughout the program.
• Hold a valid driver’s license to travel to site locations.
• Transcript is required for all student intern positions and must be attached.

Responsibilities

• Perform lower skill level modification work order engineering projects.
• Verify redlines of modifications per DFS MOC procedure.
• Assist with field coordination of contractors.
• Assist with system performance testing.
• Perform inspections of power plant systems when opportunities arise.
• Prepare job scope documents for external contractors.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
