Job summary

Southwest Power Pool is seeking an engineering intern for a 10–12 week Summer 2027 program. The role involves hands-on work supporting transmission planning and related engineering tasks in a collaborative team environment.

The candidate should be a senior-year student pursuing a BS in an ABET-accredited engineering field, with a 3.0+ GPA and a strong interest in the power industry. Housing is provided if needed and hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Qualifications

• Senior-year college student pursuing a BS in an ABET-accredited engineering field.
• Desire to work in the Power industry after graduation.
• GPA of 3.0 or above.

Responsibilities

• Summer 2027 start for a 10–12 week, 40 hours per week internship.
• Perform real work that supports goals for the business.
• Paid internship and housing provided if needed for the duration of the internship.
• Interns will deliver a presentation at the end to show lessons learned and knowledge gained.
• Team activities may occur after hours during the internship.
