Job summary

SPX Cooling Technologies is seeking a summer Engineering/Design Intern for 2027 to gain hands-on experience in product development, testing, and design initiatives that support innovative manufacturing solutions.

Ideal candidates study Mechanical, Industrial, or Design Engineering and will work on CAD-driven tasks, design analyses, and documentation with experienced engineers. Hybrid schedule with housing stipends available for non-local students.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or Design/Drafting Technology.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0+ required.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in product development projects, including design analysis (structural and/or fluid mechanics) and prototype support.
• Contribute to product improvement initiatives, such as technical feasibility studies, economic analysis, and design layouts.
• Create and modify engineering drawings and models using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software.
• Support component and product testing, documenting results and recommending design adjustments when needed.
• Help assemble engineering standards in preparation for automation and design process improvements.
• Collaborate with engineers on updating or modifying design programs, templates, and technical documentation to reflect product revisions and industry code updates.
