Job summary

SPX Technologies, Inc. is seeking a 2027 summer Engineering/Design Intern to support product development, testing, and design initiatives within our HVAC Cooling division.

This internship offers hands-on experience on real-world engineering challenges and collaboration with experienced professionals. You will gain exposure to design analysis, CAD drawing creation using AutoCAD and SolidWorks, and opportunities to contribute to testing and documentation in a hybrid Kansas City area setting with

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in product development projects, including design analysis (structural and/or fluid mechanics) and prototype support.
• Contribute to product improvement initiatives, such as technical feasibility studies, economic analysis, and design layouts.
• Create and modify engineering drawings and models using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software.
• Support component and product testing, documenting results and recommending design adjustments when needed.
• Help assemble engineering standards in preparation for automation and design process improvements.
• Collaborate with engineers on updating or modifying design programs, templates, and technical documentation to reflect product revisions and industry code updates.
