Job summary

IMEG in Cincinnati, OH is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern for a 10-12 week paid summer internship. You will work with a team of engineers on electrical systems design, analysis, and project oversight, with an HVAC focus area.

The role offers hands-on project support, collaboration across disciplines, site observations, and exposure to industrial and manufacturing building systems. 100% employee-owned culture and mentoring provided, with potential path to full-time.

Qualifications

• Completed at least 2 years toward a BS Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Strong interest in design consulting.
• Exposure to CAD and/or BIM software.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Able to communicate clearly in verbal and written form.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design portions of electrical systems per code and IMEG standards.
• Assist with engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight of electrical systems in buildings.
• Research commercially available equipment and resources.
• Maintain client relations, project notebooks, and documentation for permanent records.
• Coordinate design and schedule with other disciplines (architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, etc.).
• Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions promptly while monitoring progress.
• Review project documents for accuracy before final checks.
• Prepare and issue addendum information.
• Conduct periodic job site observations and other required services.
• Work within project budgets and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet goals and client expectations.
