Job summary

IMEG in Germantown, MD is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern for a 10-12 week summer program to support design and analysis of electrical systems in buildings, with mentorship from experienced engineers.

This paid internship offers real project work, assistance with documentation, site observations, and collaboration across disciplines, preparing you for a full-time career in building design consulting.

Qualifications

• Completed at least 2 years towards a BS in Electrical Engineering.
• Strong interest in design consulting; CAD/BIM exposure; MS Office proficiency; clear communication.
• Preferred internship in the building design consulting industry.

Responsibilities

• Assist with electrical design tasks for projects in accordance with code and IMEG standards.
• Assist with researching commercially available equipment and related resources.
• Assist with maintaining client relations, project design notebooks, and permanent record documentation.
• Assist with coordinating design and schedule needs with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment supplier teams.
• Assist with documenting design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring design progress.
• Assist with reviewing project documents for accuracy and completeness before final check.
• Assist with preparing and issuing addendum information.
• Conduct periodic job site observations and perform other services required by the contract services agreement.
