Job summary

Jane Street seeks a Dean of Students for AMP, our Academy of Math and Programming in New York City. This on-site role supports the program's academic culture, guiding attendance, participation, behavior, and integrity while partnering with instructors, teaching assistants, and directors.

The position runs as a temporary, full-time summer role from late June to early August, with 9am–5pm Monday–Friday classes. Travel, housing if requested, and meals are provided. Base salary is $30,000.

Qualifications

• Leadership or school administration experience in a middle/high school, summer program, or similar setting.
• Ability to support student conduct with empathy and consistency.
• Clear, collaborative communicator; comfortable giving direct feedback to students and staff.
• Strong observational and organizational skills to notice patterns and follow up.
• Able to handle sensitive student matters discreetly and elevate concerns appropriately.

Responsibilities

• Apply the program's code of conduct during the academic day and address attendance, engagement, academic integrity, and classroom behavior constructively.
• Meet regularly with instructors and teaching assistants to understand classroom dynamics and identify students needing support.
• Visit classes periodically to observe student participation and learning environment.
• Meet with Jane Street’s AMP leads to align on program values and expectations and discuss student concerns.
