Job summary

Jane Street seeks an experienced Dean of Students for the Academy of Math and Programming (AMP) in New York City. The role oversees the academic culture and supports attendance, participation, behavior, and integrity.

You'll collaborate with instructors, teaching assistants, the program director, guidance counselors, and the residential director to ensure consistent student support during the five-week program. Travel, housing (if requested), and meals are provided.

Qualifications

• > Leadership or school administration experience in a middle or high school, summer program, or similar educational setting.
• > Experience supporting student conduct and academic expectations with sound judgment, empathy, and consistency.
• > Clear, collaborative communicator; comfortable giving direct feedback to students and staff.
• > Strong observational and organizational skills, including the ability to notice patterns and follow up promptly.
• > Able to handle sensitive student matters discreetly and escalate concerns appropriately.

Responsibilities

• Consistently applying the program's code of conduct during the academic day and helping students address concerns related to attendance, engagement, academic integrity, and classroom behavior in a constructive and developmentally appropriate way
• Meeting regularly with instructors and teaching assistants to understand classroom dynamics and identify students who may need additional support
• Visiting classes periodically to observe student participation and the learning environment
• Meeting regularly with AMP leads to align on program values and student expectations, discuss student concerns, and agree on key decisions
