Job summary

Citizens in Johnston, RI invites motivated undergraduates to join a 10-week Data Management Undergraduate Internship as part of its Enterprise Data and Analytics Early Career Program. Interns split time between host teams and cross-functional project work, gaining hands-on experience across data quality, ETL, SQL development, cloud data tools, and analytics lifecycle.

Participants collaborate with data partners to deliver meaningful insights, build dashboards, and contribute to governance

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, statistics, engineering, or other technology-related degrees
• Expected graduation date between December 2027 and Spring 2028
• Minimum GPA of 3.0
• Experience working with raw as well as prepared datasets
• Proficiency with programming languages / tools: SQL, Python, Microsoft Excel, with exposure to Pandas
• Familiarity with cloud computing environments (e.g., AWS), APIs, and working with structured data formats like JSON and YAML
• Understanding of master data management principles and processes
• Experience in data analysis and an interest in learning data governance principles

Responsibilities

• Support teams responsible for data management systems and workflows that support business needs
• Develop and optimize SQL queries for ETL
• Troubleshoot and resolve data quality or integrity issues
• Work hands-on with internal data repositories to collect, organize, and analyze datasets
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather feedback and refine solutions to maximize business impact
• Present final project outcomes and insights to peers and leaders as part of a capstone presentation
