Job summary

Green Chimneys seeks a Camp Counselor Assistant for Hillside and Clearpool locations to support counselors in creating a fun and safe camp environment for campers.

Ideal candidates are at least 15 years old and entering 11th grade; 16-year-olds entering 11th grade may apply for Junior Counselor positions. Employment dates for 2027 run June 21 through August 6.

Responsibilities

• Assist camp counselors to provide a fun, supportive and warm atmosphere for campers.
• Develop relationships with each camper within the group.
• Promote positive group interaction and follow procedures for campers' health and safety.
• Help plan and schedule weekly activities with staff.
• Support General/Junior counselors within their group.

TheCamp Counselor Assistant will assist camp Counselors to provide a fun,supportive and warm atmosphere where campers can improve their individualpotential, gain understanding of others, experience new ideas and develop anappreciation for the environment. This position must be a good role model forcampers, develop relationships with each camper within the group, promotepositive group interaction, follow established procedures for maintaining camper’shealth and safety, work together with other staff to plan and schedule weeklyactivities, and other related duties as directed by the Head Counselor or CampSupervisor.Counselor Assistant’s will support General/Junior counselorswithin their group, but are not counted towards their group’s supervisionratio.

Applicants must be 15years old and entering 11 th grade prior to starting employment. Dates of employment for Counselor Assistants in 2027 are June 21st - August 6 th .

Applicantswho will be 16 years of age and entering 11 th grade should apply forthe Junior Counselor Position.
