Job summary

Granite Construction offers a summer internship to support a project team with management, field construction activities, and project documentation in the heavy-civil sector. Interns gain hands-on experience, mentorship, and networking opportunities while earning income.

Enrollees may earn course credit depending on their faculty advisor and program rules. Strong communication, organization, and teamwork are essential; travel may be frequent, and bilingual English/Spanish is preferred but not

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Construction, Engineering, or related undergraduate program at an accredited 4-year university.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to travel frequently.
• Bilingual English/Spanish (Preferred but not required).

Responsibilities

• Assist project team with field construction operations and documentation.
• Support foremen and owners, agencies, subcontractors, inspectors, and the local community.
• Assist the project engineer with approving timecards and tracking labor/equipment time.
• Verify quantities in Field Information Systems and log for cost tracking.
• Generate and distribute daily cost reports to project manager, foreman, and superintendent.
• Complete daily reports for Intermountain Slurry Seal and subcontractors.
• Place material orders and survey requests; handle locates.
• Assist with material yield calculations.
• Support jobsite daily progress with the project manager/engineer.
• Other duties as needed.
