Job summary

DOWL is seeking a Construction Engineering and Inspection Intern for Summer 2027 in Medford, OR. This on-site internship supports our Construction Engineering and Inspection market sector with engineering assistance, site visits, and inspections of civil infrastructure projects.

You'll work with engineers to document conditions, perform calculations, and assist in in-service inspections of bridges, walls, culverts, and tanks.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Baccalaureate degree in civil, environmental, or construction engineering technology.
• Minimum 1–2 years of college coursework; two years preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals.

Responsibilities

• Establish and document existing conditions at project sites through research and site visits
• Perform engineering calculations in support of civil engineering construction projects
• Conduct site visits to construction projects to monitor quality and progress of the work
• Perform construction inspection of transportation and heavy civil projects
• Assist in the in-service inspection of structures including bridges, walls, culverts, and tanks
• Other engineering related duties as assigned
