The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) is seeking a communications intern for the St. Louis District Office in Chesterfield, MO.

You will support routine entry‑level communications activities including developing department publications, website editorial content, and other information for internal and external audiences under moderate supervision. Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a relevant bachelor's or post-bachelor's degree program.
• Must possess, and maintain, an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher out of 4.0
• Must have completed at least 30 credit hours.

Responsibilities

• Prepares news releases regarding department activities, contract lettings, and public relations events for newspapers and radio.
• Assists with department's special projects such as Missouri State Fair exhibits, conference displays, work zone safety campaigns, roadway safety activities, and other special promotions.
• Develops website content, brochures, handouts, newsletters, and other publicity material; designs and publishes written materials.
• Writes feature stories for department publications.
• Develops video productions and takes photos of department activities.
• Organizes public meetings, media events, and ribbon cutting events.
• Generates, edits, and publishes social media content.
• Supports district customer service activities.
• Performs other responsibilities as required or assigned.
