Job summary

Moderna's CMC Development team in Norwood, MA is offering a summer internship from June 7, 2027 to August 20, 2026. You will join high‑performing project teams to develop new manufacturing platforms for mRNA medicines, applying coursework and learning advanced techniques in mRNA synthesis, lipid nanoparticles, and drug formulation for clinical and commercial contexts.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a relevant Bachelor's or Master's program
• Strong ability to evaluate experimental data
• Laboratory skills applicable to bioprocess development and analytical methods
• Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Work with a team to quickly get up to speed on technology and techniques.
• Generate experimental results, analyze data, and document in formal reports with conclusions and next steps.
• Perform process scale-up, support technology transfer and provide manufacturing support at Moderna sites.
• Participate in planning, design, execution, analysis of experiments and risk assessments to establish critical parameters.
• Optimize formulation and processing conditions for stability of mRNA products.
• Review literature and coordinate with internal groups for collaborations.
• Create scaled-down models and high throughput setups for unit operations.
• Characterize mRNA and lipid nanoparticles with analytics.
• Prepare technical reports and present findings in cross-functional meetings
