Job summary

Moderna in Norwood, MA is seeking candidates for a full‑time CMC Development Rotation Program. You will complete three 6‑month rotations across our CMC Development teams, gaining hands‑on experience in mRNA synthesis, lipid nanoparticle assembly, and drug product formulation.

You will contribute to scale‑up, tech transfer, and manufacturing support at Moderna and external sites. The program emphasizes collaboration, rigorous data analysis, and development of robust process control strategies to

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical/Biochemical/Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or related field.
• Strong fundamental scientific and engineering skills for evaluating experimental data.
• Laboratory skills applicable to bioprocess development and analytical methods.

Responsibilities

• Work with a team to learn technology and techniques.
• Generate experimental results, analyze data, and document findings.
• Perform process scale‑up and support technology transfer.
• Plan, design, execute, and analyze experiments with risk assessments.
• Optimize formulation and processing for stability of mRNA products.
• Review literature and establish collaborations with internal groups.
• Create scaled‑down models and high throughput setups.
• Characterize mRNA and lipid nanoparticles with analytical teams.
• Prepare technical reports and present findings in cross‑functional meetings.
• Additional duties as assigned.
