Job summary

PE Services is offering a Summer 2027 internship for Civil Engineering, Construction Management students and related programs. Interns gain exposure to heavy civil transportation projects and participate in project rotations and site observations.

The internship pays $26 per hour, plus a monthly car allowance, boot expense coverage, and PTO accrual. Candidates must be enrolled and able to lift 50 pounds; a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related program.
• Interest in engineering and construction procedures and practices.
• Willingness to work on active transportation project sites during the internship.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving history.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Follow the internship project rotation which allows you to see a range of different projects we work on.
• Perform daily observation/diary of construction progress under the supervision of the team lead or your mentor.
• Perform various soil and concrete sampling, testing, and inspection.
• Assist Technicians, Engineers, and Managers on assigned tasks.
• Participate in Intern engagement activities including picnics, executive leadership Q&As, and other employee engagement activities.
• Present a Lessons Learned presentation at the end of the internship program.
